Anthony Joshua, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Johnny Nelson, injuries and photobombing Sky Sports!

It’s been a while since the last blog so to catch up quickly: “Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Pancake Day!”.

Here’s a quick recap of the December and January:

Broken….

So it had to happen sooner or later. I broke, knees gave up the ghost.

These challenges and the training especially are taking it’s toll.

After the half marathon I couldn’t walk properly for two days on the third day I thought I’d try and pick up the old routine and go back to normal. Turns out that road running isn’t really that good for you and mullers your knees.

Bizarrely my knees didn’t finally give up until directly after doing my third celebrity selfie with Sarah Beeny! Maybe it was her beauty and charm that made me go week at the knees and popped my left knee cap? Either way welcome to a world of pain!Injury Prone

Interestingly after the knee incident I spoke to a friend who is training to become a professional Iron Man competitor about how he looks after his knees and he informed m that he’ll never run on a road unless it is competition day. He followed up by saying if the choice is between 50 metres of grass on playing field or roaring on a beautiful scenic road route he’ll start doing little laps on the grass to do his 10k training!

Note to self, protect those knees!

So far the injury list includes:

Sprained wrist: picked up after first boxing session after trying to hit th heavy bag to hard and not wrapping my hands and wrists properly. #schoolboyerror

The side effects of the wrist sprain is not being able to bend my wrist back making press ups impossible unless performed on your knuckles (which do look cool… In my head..).

Torn heel: This one is a real bitch! Thankfully and bizarrely I only get this searing pain when I waggle my foot side to side on or over extend it. Somehow and thankfully doesn’t hurt too much when boxing or running or this would be my last blog!

Knees.. Don’t get me started..

Cool Things:

I met Manny Paquiao, Amir Khan, Anthony Joshua and Johnny Nelson down at Fitzroy Lodge (thanks to some friends setting that one up.. I owe you!. Also managed to photo bomb Sky Sports coverage of the event…. Top bombing!
